Smile Note Cards

Sometimes the most wonderful color and pattern combinations happen by pure accident. I was going through my collection of papers from Canvas Corp and while doing so found these three papers stacked on top of each other.

Wow -- I would never have thought to put these three papers together in a project, but something clicked and the result is a set of four little note cards.

This was actually a fairly easy project and I started by assembling all my materials and tools.

Materials:
Canvas Corp: Grunge Check Ivory and Green
Canvas Corp: Grey and Ivory Mini Dot Reverse
Canvas Corp: Black and Ivory Plaid
Black Ink (Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Black Soot)
Tombo Mono Permanent Adhesive

Tools:
Paper Cutter
Butterfly Punch (Fiskars)
Oval Punch (Fiskars)
Rubber stamp

I began by cutting out the base of each card using the Grunge Check Ivory and Green paper. The size is 3-3/4" x 5-1/2" (when folded measures 3-3/4" x 2-3/4"). The next step was to cut a 3" x 2" top panel from the Grey and Ivory Mini Dot Reverse paper

I stamped the "Smile" message on the back of a piece of the Grey and Ivory dot paper and then punched it out with my oval punch. I used my butterfly punch to punch out the figure from the Black and Ivory Plaid paper.

I easily assembled everything using my Tombo Mono Permanent Adhesive, which is my preferred adhesive.

I am so pleased with the way these note cards turned out. The color is very spring-like and they'd be a great way to say hello and make someone smile! They are now available in my Etsy shop, Pretty Byrd Designs.

St. Patrick's Day Cards

Hi all!

In two days it will be March and that makes me happy for two reasons. First, Spring arrives ... yeah!!! That means the beginning of blooms and blossoms and the return of all things green, including St. Patrick's Day -- which is the second great reason!

With that in mind, I'm posting a couple of cards I created especially for that day. The paper I used for these cards is from the St. Paddy's Day Digital Paper Pack from Cornucopia Art Design on etsy.

The first was created with a panel of  "lucky" paper adhered to a white card. I added strips of both a patterned green ribbon and sparkly silver and white ribbon. The gold gemstones and sparkly white buttons add to the festive feel.

The next card features green and gold! The panel of striped paper is backed by a white card. Shamrock paper and gold mesh ribbon adorn the "Happy St. Patrick's Day" greeting. The sparkly gold brad coordinates with the gold ribbon ... and makes me think of the pot of gold waiting to be found!

My final creation is a set of four little note cards adorned with a charming shamrock on the front of each! I used my heart punch to make these delightful shamrock flowers ... using shamrock paper! I stamped a stem on each and added a gold gem stone to the center of each. Simple -- but so sweet!

Little Note Cards

Happy 2015 everyone!

Today I'm featuring a super-simple but super-charming note card set that features Ewe-N-Me Printable's Collage Sheet - New Year Kids. There are six different images in two different sizes -- for a total of twelve images!!

I printed off the sheet on white cardstock and cut out the images I wanted to use. The note card set I'm featuring today uses the small images which are 1.5" x 2.5".

I started off with six 3"x3" dark green note cards and layered each with a panel of vintage ledger paper. I then adhered one of the images to each card. The vibrant colors are so perfect against the dark green cards.

I stamped "2015" in teal blue ink on the edge of each card. I kept it easy and carefree by stamping the numbers in free form style. No precision alignment here!!!

These images are so charming -- look at those sweet faces!!

Wouldn't this note card set make a lovely thank you gift?

Little Note Card Set

Happy Monday everyone!

It's Christmas week and I'm sure the next few days will zoom by! It never fails that I end up scrambling for one more gift. My little note card set is perfect for that last-minute present or a lovely hostess gift.

The kraft cards measure 3x3 and are layered with a tan and ivory scripted panel. I then attached a shabby chic kraft paper flower to each card.

These flowers feature script, music notes and polka dot patterns. Really great!

That's it! Doesn't get much easier! These little cards would work well on a gift bag or box. Because of the neutral color, they can be used for almost any occasion, too!

This card set is so simple yet elegant looking. If you're looking for an easy last-minute gift idea, why not try out this project!
