Enjoy a Little Garden Therapy

Hi all --

Today I'm featuring a delightful garden journal I created with a wonderful assortment of products from Canvas Corp Brands!

My journal is done in bright and vibrant shades of green -- perfect for a spring flower garden!

My inspiration started with the Canvas Corp Printed Cardboard - Flowers. The cardboard sheets come in 12 x 12 size and are the perfect weight for journals and mixed media projects. For my journal, I cut out two 4 x 4 panels.

Because I wanted to create a flower/garden themed journal, I also decided to use Canvas Corp The Watering Can: Garden Sayings on Ivory Paper as well as Canvas Corp Spring Showers: Spring Sayings on Ivory Paper. For the cover, I cut out the words "Enjoy a Little Garden Therapy."

I wanted to include some flowers on the cover so I spray misted paper flowers with the Tattered Angels - Simply Sheer Tangy Lime Glimmer Mist. When they dried I applied a coat of the new Tattered Angels Color Wash Faux Finish - White Wash. The white wash kept the integrity of the green, but softened the color beautifully!

Once I had my cover in place, I worked on the pages of my journal. I included a variety of spring-themed and garden messages and backed them onto paper that coordinated with my garden motif.

Following are the pages I included. The lattice pattern reminded me so much of a garden fence.

This beautiful paper is from the newest Aga Baraniak Compose Your Life paper pack!!

The polka-dots are so cheery and definitely make me smile!

I also included pages done on kraft cardstock! The images were done in black ink from a couple of floral and decorative stamps that I have in my collection.

Once I had the pages assembled, I punched a hole in the upper left corner and tied them together with a piece of natural roping. I then cut a strip of fabric from the Green Canvas Sheet and threaded that through the corner opening.

I adorned the paper flowers with an ivory brad and adhered them to the cover with glue dots. I added a wooden flower embellishment to the upper corner for an extra decorative touch.

I just love the way this little journal turned out! The natural color of the cardboard contrasting with the vibrant green worked out so well.

Here is a list of materials I used for this project:

Sow Seeds of Kindness Card

Today I'm featuring a card I made that is so perfect for Spring!

I love this soft shade of pink against the black and white! It's really striking!

I started with a base of textured pink cardstock. To that, I added a panel of the beautiful Canvas Corp. paper, The Watering Can: Bikes and Baskets on Ivory.

I then added my message, "Sow Seeds of Kindness" which is cut out from a piece of paper from the Canvas Corp. In the Garden paper collection.

For my last step, I added a strip of the Canvas Corp. Burlap Fringe in Light Pink to the bottom of the card.

I then adorned the card with pink paper flowers and a dark grey paper butterfly.

What a lovely card for Spring! The message is truly sweet and the colors are so lovely!

Spring and Easter Cards

I'll confess up front that winter wasn't nearly as bad as it has been in past years. Nevertheless, I'm enjoying the return of Spring as much as I always do. Is there anything better than hearing those birds chirp in the early morning, or seeing the first little stems sprout out of the ground? It's all in anticipation of what is to come ... beautiful flowers, beautiful nature, the rebirth of all things wonderful.

And, it's nature that influences my creations for this time of year. Soft greens and florals inspired this Easter card:

Welcome Spring - Little Cards

Hello and Happy Spring!

Now that spring is here, there are going to be all kinds of events, parties and holiday happenings in the not-too-distant-future!! You know -- Easter, Mother's Day, Weddings, Babies -- just to name a few.

If you are like me, I end up scrambling at the last minute for a gift card or tag, or even a thank you card. Today I'm featuring a set of four little cards that just might come in handy for those upcoming occasions.

These little cards were created using Ewe-N-Me Printables Collage Sheet - Sweet Girls  and I have to say these image are adorable! The collage sheet has six different images in two different sizes. I used the smaller 1.5" x 2.5" images today.

I selected four of the images and adhered them to a blue 3"x 3" card. Aren't they so sweet -- I love the vintage look!

In keeping with the spring theme, I punched out pink flowers and attached one to each card. And, because I love a little sparkle, I added a bit of glitter to the edges of each image.

I'm going to keep these little cards on hand. They'd be handy for a last minute gift tag, or as a set could be used as hostess gift, too!

Please visit here for more of Deena's wonderful collage sheets!

As always, thanks for stopping by and do stop back soon!

Bring Flowers - Bookmarks

Happy Friday everyone!

It's time to start the weekend and a new month! I'm glad to say good-bye to February and winter. And, I'm looking forward to March and the return of spring and all it's beauty. Today I'm featuring bookmarks I made with Ewe-N-Me Printables Printable Bookmarks - Bring Flowers.

This downloadable is just gorgeous -- with the beautiful flowers and vintage sheet music background. There are four different images on a sheet and I printed out two sheets so that I could use the same image on the front and back of my bookmarks. All you have to do is print and cut -- so easy!

I punched a hole at the top of the bookmark so I could thread a piece of white lace trim through it. Unfortunately, doing so covers up the words "Bring Flowers" but the lace trim goes so well with the vintage look of these bookmarks.

I hand-stamped "just a note" on a scrap of white cardstock and attached that and a bit of black and white gingham ribbon to the bookmark. As a finishing touch, I added two clear beads -- I think they look like dewdrops that you'd find on a flower after a gentle rain shower.

For more downloadable bookmarks, please visit Ewe-N-Printables here.

Have a great weekend everyone -- and as always, thanks for visiting.
