End of Summer Cards

While it's a bit sad to think about the end of summer at least there are all the glorious colors of fall to look forward to. While I really enjoy pastels and softer colors, there's something so appealing about creating cards in shades of gold, orange, rust and burgundy.

This year I've found really great paper for my autumn creations. Here are some of the cards I've made:

The colors on this paper were so perfect for fall and the paper was embossed giving it great texture.

Here are a few more cards I've made. I love the rust and deep orange contrasted with the blue.

I also found some great embellishments. This tan flower and gold-edged leaf really make a nice look for fall.

Well, back to studio to work on more creations for fall and Halloween!!

Vintage Cards with Postcard Backs

The wonderful thing about downloadable collage sheets is that there are endless possibilities. Today I’m featuring Ewe-N-Me Printables Collage Sheet - PostcardBacks. What fun these were!

I’m so fond of vintage, especially when it comes to anything paper related, so these postcard backs really caught my eye. The downloadable image comes with 6 different images, in two different sizes for a total of 12 printable images. The sizes are 1.5" x 2.5" and 2" x 3.5".

Today I’m using all six images, but in different sizes to create two vintage style cards. I downloaded and printed the images and cut out 4 larger and 2 smaller sizes.

I started with two natural colored cards, one horizontal and one vertical. I glued a panel of red textured cardstock to both and left a sizeable margin on each so the red would stand out. This red paper really pops against the natural stone color. I then adhered two strips of ribbon – a dark brown and a red gingham to each card.

These images are great because the edges have that inked look. I arranged them in a stacked, overlapping style which gives the card a collage feel. I finished the cards by adding a red, shabby chic flower and two pearl beads.

Wouldn’t this be a fun card send to a friend or family member who loves vintage?

Sunflower Mini Journals

Nothing says summer more to me than sunflowers. It’s amazing how that little seed ends up as such a gorgeous vibrant tall flower!

Today I’m using Ewe-N-Me Printables beautiful HangTags – Prim Sunflowers for my latest project. There are four different images, and you will get two of each. Each tag measures approximately 2.25" wide x 3.75" high.

I love these little notebooks because they are so convenient to have on hand and so easy to tote around. Today I'm using two of the images for these little books.

I covered the front and back of each notebook with green cardstock. I then glued a strip of ribbon to the front of each notebook, leaving a bit of the black edge showing. It gives a bit of contrast and adds to that rustic look.

I printed the tags and cut out the two I wanted to use. The tags come with distressed edges which is so great! I added just a bit of darker ink so they’d really pop against the green.

I added a little gold panel that’s been hand stamped with “Spread Sunshine” to the bottom of each tag. I punched a hole in the top of the tag and added a matching green brad. Then I glued the tag to the journal!

These little books are so cute and so easy to make! There is a large assortment of wonderful hang tags at Ewe-N-Me Printables and you can check them out here

Thank You Note Cards

One thing that's nice to have on hand are thank you cards. I like these little note cards because they're perfect to jot a quick message to someone for a gift or thoughtful gesture.

These cards were a breeze to make. "Gratitude" and the decorative edge were hand stamped in navy ink. I punched out the flowers with coordinating paper, added a tiny pearl bead and glue dotted them to the card. Easy-easy!

Here's another set I did with green ink, coordinating green paper and pink flowers.

And, another in yellow and lavender.

The latest set I've made feature pumpkins and can be used throughout the fall! I added a bit of sparkle to give them a festive flair!

Thanks for visiting -- stop back soon!
