Wooden Gift Box

Here's a sweet little box that would look lovely on a dresser and fit in with a shabby chic decor.

The box was grey and I distress-painted it with one coat of oyster white acrylic paint. When that dried I added a coat of matte varnish. I love this pretty paper butterfly so I added that to the front of the box.

I added four pearl beads to the lid, which I think gives the box a simple yet elegant look.

What a charming place for those keepsakes and treasures!

Sunflower Cards

Last week this vibrant, earth-toned paper caught my eye. The colors might seem a bit more appropriate for late summer or fall, but the floral pattern still works now.

I made a birthday card with a coordinating green cardstock and added two paper butterflies along with a strip of light colored burlap.

The next two cards can be used for any occasion. I used an ivory cardstock as the background for these two.

I think the white lace is a nice contrast to the rich colors and it also lightens up the cards to give them a summery feel. The paper butterfly and paper flower add cheery touch, too!

Seed Pack Mini Journals

If you like to journal, here are a couple of mini notebooks you might like for the summer. They're small -- 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" -- so easy to throw into a tote, purse or backpack.

These two are perfect for the gardener -- to jot down notes, keep track of what worked and that sort of thing. The seed pack tags are so cute, too!

I like this little notebook for the summer traveler. So handy to capture thoughts of those memorable occasions.

These cute little books would be fun to have on hand for the summer. They're bright, tropical and easy to take along to the beach!

Wedding Card

Hello and thanks for stopping by today!

I found this beautiful handmade paper and thought it would make a lovely card for a summer wedding.

The paper is so light and delicate and gives the card a simple yet elegant look.






I adhered the paper to an ivory card, added a pale green ribbon and ivory lace. The little tag is made from vintage-style paper and I used a coppery color ink for the message and to ink the edges. It matches the coppery accents on the pearl embellishments.

I made a second card and used gold accents.
